Whats up Blogverse. It is another beautiful day to be alive. Today I wanted to talk about something that I think is the main reason a lot of people are not successful. They are impatient. For me, if I had to boil 2019 into one word it would be patience. Now don’t get me wrong. I love for things to happen but more and more I am becoming comfortable with waiting. The problem with waiting is that with each second that goes by that nothing happens, waiting becomes doubting. Or little by little doubt creeps in and merges with your waiting. It’s so easy to think hmm this is taking a while. Then it goes from there to man, I wonder why it’s taking so long. Then you are off to the races. You can come up with a hundred reasons why things aren’t working and will never work in a span of 5 minutes. When in reality they may or may not be working but you really don’t know. I know that when I was younger I would do things and then expect to get an immediate result. Post a video and then look at the video 10 minutes later to see if that video has gone viral. You just need to give it time. I mean really what is the rush? If you do something and that thing has the desired effect(which is another blog for another day)now what. So you become a millionaire overnight now what? Do you think that your life will be perfect from that point on? I really hope not.
To be fair there are a lot of people that are starving. Stay with me for a second on this one. If you really know about cooking or get into cooking, part of the joy of cooking is actually doing that, cooking. It’s not just about eating delicious food and trust me that is a great part but the food is an added benefit to cooking. My girlfriend bought a dicer last year and I never use it. One day she asked me why I never use it and I told her because I enjoy cutting vegetables. I didn’t cook for most of my life and after my divorce, I had to cook for myself. Little by little I went from dreading cooking and only making very basic pasta to enjoying the process of cooking. I enjoyed learning new recipes and preparing tasty food with specific people in mind. Cutting vegetables reminds me that I can survive anything and it is never too late to grow. Now, none of this matters to a person who is starving. Most people need results and so they are not in a position to enjoy the cooking process. This is very real and understandable. So to them, I would say take care of yourself and then when you get to a place to enjoy the cooking do that. A lot of people, however, are not starving, they are just lazy. I have been there and I sometimes let myself go there. It not good to be lazy. Lazyiness robs you of all the good that life has to offer. So if you are working on something or building something for yourself don’t panic or worry, just give it time.
